AAI
Capabilities
During its more than 50 years in business, AAI has built a
reputation as a top-rated global corporation by developing, producing,
supporting, and upgrading complex equipment for the U.S. Department of
Defense as well as international defense customers.
Beginning with concept and design, AAI’s highly trained
technicians and engineers craft solutions to issues that face our customers,
in areas ranging from
unmanned systems,
test
systems, and
training
systems to
contractor logistics support
and engineering services. Our experts
combine systems engineering, software, hardware, and integration
technologies to tailor solutions that meet unique requirements.
Our business areas are fully supported by modern mechanical and
electronic centers required for successful fabrication, assembly,
integration, and test. Our manufacturing capabilities range from production
of unique one-of-a-kind prototypes to full production of complete
sophisticated systems.
The company’s design and manufacturing processes are certified
to the demanding ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100 quality system specifications. In
addition, AAI is fully compliant with the ISO 14001 environmental
specification.
AAI has been externally assessed at Level 5, the highest level
of the U.S. Defense Department’s Software Engineering Institute Capability
Maturity Model.
In the field, AAI’s highly skilled engineers and technicians are
embedded with platoons standing shoulder-to-shoulder with America’s
warfighters, developing creative and resourceful support techniques that go
well beyond manuals and ordinary training in support of mission success.
In addition, AAI’s asset management team works around the clock
to keep a chain of parts, components, and morale flowing to many sites where
AAI systems are deployed. In fact, AAI’s unmatched expertise in the area of
performance-based logistics is keeping military systems operational across
the globe, and has earned us the first ever performance-based logistics
award from the Secretary of Defense for mission success in the global war on
terrorism.
Our work at AAI extends beyond today’s applications and includes
aggressive research and development efforts across a wide spectrum of
cutting-edge technologies. For example, we’ve developed a superior family of
systems that detect gunfire from hidden or distant sources and are reducing
the weight of
small arms
weapons and ammunition for the warfighter.
Whether it’s for multimillion dollar contracts or smaller
one-of-a-kind prototypes, AAI professionals consistently apply innovative
technologies to achieve uncommonly successful results for each and every
challenge.
