Acoustic Detection Systems

Our Advanced Technology group specializes in acoustic devices that either detect and locate the origin of gunshots or provide non-contact scoring of targets.
     
The chief product developed and continually being refined by the group is AAI’s Projectile Detection and Cueing (PDCue®) technology. PDCue locates the origin of gunshots by utilizing acoustic signal processing technology. PDCue is being incorporated as the gunshot detection system of choice on several Defense Department technology demonstrators and future production weapon system platforms.
     
Another innovative product is AAI’s Target Detection and Cueing (TDCue®) technology. TDCue automatically scores projectiles — from small arms bullets to large caliber tank rounds. TDCue non-contact  hit sensor systems, utilizing flat bars with multiple acoustic sensors, are currently employed in fixed ranges to detect and score tank and infantry rounds. In addition, a portable TDCue system is available for small arms scoring in any range location.
