The Shadow® 600 unmanned aircraft system was developed following the dramatically successful deployment of the AAI Pioneer® UAV during the 1991 Gulf War and is based on recommendations of battlefield operators. The system incorporates two key upgrades: increased endurance to 12 - 14 hours and payload to 91 pounds/ 41 kilograms.
Shadow 600 unmanned aircraft systems feature state-of-the-art improvements, including more powerful and reliable 52 hp engines, digital electronics and autopilot, wheel brakes, ruggedized nosewheel assemblies, and lithium long-life batteries.
The Shadow 600 airframe is manufactured to ISO 9001 standards, and major components are made of graphite/epoxy pre-impregnated (prepreg) material. Wing panels are made of carbon graphite prepreg in a honeycomb design to provide maximum strength.
Designed to accommodate multiple payloads, the versatile Shadow 600 is supporting military requirements in several U.S. allied nations where the systems operate in diverse and rigorous climate and terrain conditions.
