AAI has a considerable heritage of developing innovative flight line, depot, and product line electronic test equipment for U.S. and international aviation products and markets.
One of our foremost test systems is the portable Joint Service Electronic Combat Systems Tester (JSECST) used on air base flight lines and aircraft carrier decks to ensure mission readiness and reliability of electronic combat gear.
Another leading AAI technology is Advanced Boresight Equipment (ABE®), providing weapon systems accuracy through gyro-based technologies compatible with any platform in any environment. Key customers include U.S. and foreign military services, and Boeing and Eurofighter manufacturing systems.
In addition, ESL Defence Limited, a wholly owned AAI subsidiary based in the United Kingdom, is a world market leader in the design and production of electro-optic test and simulation products for use on flight lines and in aircraft maintenance facilities.
ESL's electro-optic simulators are used at military test, evaluation, and training ranges to evaluate effectiveness of new self-protection systems and to train pilots for combat readiness.
Symtx Inc., a wholly owned AAI subsidiary acquired in 2006, is a foremost producer of high-performance functional test solutions for mission-critical electronic systems. Symtx’s customers include most major defense and aerospace prime contractors and the U.S. military.
Specialized test systems from Symtx are used in the development and production of several new and emerging major U.S. military and civil aviation programs, including the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet aircraft, Global Hawk unmanned aircraft systems, the U.S. military’s next-generation Joint Tactical Radio System, and several significant classified satellite payload programs.
