Mission Systems Trainers
The Compass Call Mission Crew Simulator provides realistic scenario generation and conduct for training and mission rehearsal. It includes nine trainee positions, a three-position Instructor Operator Station, and a Training System Support Center used for scenario development and software maintenance. Simulated cabinets are actual size and simulated aircraft panel locations are identical to actual equipment. The level of fidelity of each panel is dependent on training significance. The highest fidelity panels are fully interactive.
The simulation software provides a fully interactive and coherent signal simulation environment, including high-fidelity signal environment to aircraft equipment models. The simulated environment provides realistic reactions to jamming by the EC-130.
More than 920,000 lines of Compass Call operating software are reused in the training system to provide high-fidelity representation of system operation. This includes low-mid band subsystem controllers, high band digital processing unit, dual work station (human machine interface), digital processing system, and central computational units.
Simulated equipment includes antenna and receivers, navigation system, Tactical Information Broadcast System, and remaining Compass Call operating software. The system includes a digital simulation of audio and video, including: operator receiver units (audio and spectrum analysis), PAN Display (spectrum analysis), and aircraft radios.
