
Steven E. Reid

Steven E. Reid is vice
president of unmanned aircraft systems for AAI Corporation,
an operating unit of Textron Systems Corporation and an indirect wholly
owned subsidiary of Textron Inc.
Named to his current
position in March 2005, Mr. Reid is responsible for present and future
programs associated with AAI’s Shadow® family of unmanned
aircraft systems, as well as implementation of the One System®
Ground Control Station and other unmanned aircraft system products. He
also oversees Aerosonde Pty Ltd, AAI’s subsidiary in Australia.
He previously had been
AAI’s program director for tactical unmanned aerial vehicle systems,
including the Shadow 200 program selected by the U.S. Army as its
frontline intelligence-gathering, surveillance, and reconnaissance
tactical unmanned aircraft system.
Earlier in his career,
Mr. Reid served as vice president of programs and business development
for Pioneer UAV, Inc., a company owned equally by AAI and Israel
Aircraft Industries, and was responsible for the development and
production of Pioneer unmanned aircraft systems for the U.S. Navy and
U.S. Marine Corps.
He joined AAI in 1979
as a manufacturing production planner and subsequently held a variety of
program, project development, and production positions within the
company’s Defense Systems business unit.
Mr. Reid earned a
bachelor of science degree in operations management from the University
of Delaware, and a master’s degree in business administration from
Loyola College in Baltimore. He also completed the program manager
course at the Defense Systems Management College.
