Robert J. Peters is
vice president of business development and training systems for
AAI Corporation,
an operating unit of Textron Systems Corporation and an indirect wholly
owned subsidiary of Textron Inc.
As vice president of
business development since April 2004, Mr. Peters is responsible for
strategic planning, research and development management, international
business development, and communications.
Named vice president of
training systems in January 2007, he is also responsible for the
company’s training products including operator, maintenance, weapons
systems, and electronic warfare, as well as embedded on-board tactics
trainers.
He previously served as
director of advanced programs for AAI.
Before joining AAI in
2002, Mr. Peters was vice president of sales and marketing for American
Science and Engineering Inc., a company specializing in the development,
production, and fielding of x-ray security systems for seaport, land
border, and aviation security.
Earlier in his career,
Mr. Peters spent 14 years in development and production of
defense-related technologies, including director of advanced programs at
General Dynamics Defense Systems, director of land combat systems
business development at Lockheed Martin Defense Systems, manager of
advanced systems engineering at General Electric Aerospace Automated
Systems, and senior systems engineer at RCA.
Mr. Peters earned
master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic
Institute and electrical engineering from Northeastern University, as
well as a bachelor of science degree from Worcester Polytechnic
Institute.
He is a member of the
Navy League of the United States, the Association of the United States
Army, the National Defense Industrial Association, the Army Aviation
Association of America, and Sigma Xi Scientific Honor Society.
