AAI’s Advanced Boresight Equipment (ABE®) leads the industry in speed, accuracy, repeatability, and ease of use. ABE is a state-of-the-art, gyro-stabilized, electro-optical, angular measurement system designed to align systems on any land, sea, or air vehicle.
The ABE system uses inertial sensing to permit lines of sight to be simply and rapidly transferred from one station to another, eliminating the need for an unobstructed line of sight between stations.

A personality module (PM) is application-specific firmware that tailors the operating characteristics of the ABE system (i.e., menus, set-up parameters, and data reporting formats) to a specific aircraft application. The PM can:
-Tailor the ABE system to the specific function of boresighting station
-candidates
-Assist the ABE operator by configuring all internal ABE setup
-parameters and guiding the operator through the boresight process
-Translate measurement data into a simple format and allow entry
-into the aircraft’s computational system for direct mechanical adjustments
-Create a job record for each aircraft boresight and store it in non-volatile memory
-Allow up to 16 separate job records to be electronically downloaded to
-a personal computer, where it can be printed and stored as an electronic
-archive of aircraft boresighting
