AAI is a full service UAS company with more than 25 years of experience designing, producing, testing, fielding, and supporting a complete family of advanced tactical UAS throughout the world.
Our foremost UAS is the highly regarded RQ-7B Shadow® tactical UAS, in service with both the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. Shadow systems have amassed a record number of operational hours, including vital support of warfighters in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
AAI’s Aerosonde® small UAS is manufactured by our wholly owned subsidiary, Aerosonde Pty Ltd of Australia. The lightweight UAS can be launched using a catapult system or from the top of a fast-moving ground vehicle, and is used by NASA and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for hurricane research.
AAI announced in September 2008 that it had teamed with Israel-based Aeronautics Ltd., designer of the Orbiter™ miniature unmanned aircraft, to market the product. In February 2009, the company completed a successful flight demonstration of the Orbiter aircraft at Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona.
In support of our UAS, we have developed an interoperability network of common ground control systems — the U.S. Army’s designated One System® Ground Control Station, One System Portable Ground Control Station, and One System Remote Video Terminal. |
